I was trying to especially capture action....my usual is landscapes or stills.
This one I like because of the various colors, the action of the water along the side of the boat, and the paddles/oars all positioned mid stroke. I feel like the focus isn't quite right though. It looks to me like the area most in focus is the dragon head on the one boat.
This one I like because of the closeness I was able to get of just the head. I'd like it better without the dock in the background.
This one I like for all the action that has been stopped and the reflection of the boaters in the water in the front boat.

Debby, what a great set of photos. You seemed lucky to catch a sun "break". I particularly like the first picture where you were focusing on action. By catching and placing the paddlers right where you did, I not only get a sense of the excitement but I feel as if I am in that boat working along with them. Doesn't it seem like the drummer is getting a free ride?
