Shot was taken in Nisqually Regional Refuge. I wasn't actually going for Patriotic, being from England :-) I was looking at the solitude of this bird along with the strong yet vulnerable nature of the species. Plus the noblility, graceful, alert and searching qualities. Not that I would say I have all those qualities but they are some that I aspire to having.
