Meagan MacKenzie - Aperture Assignment

I was surprised how much depth of field was impacted on this relatively flat subject by just changing the aperture (& camera changed shutter speed).
I was on my back directly under the light, aperture priority mode @ 6.3 which put the shutter @ 1/6. ISO 800, 35mm, matrix metering. I wish I could have opened the aperture more for a faster shutter speed. The version on ISO 1600 had too much noise.

  1. Wow! Wow! Wow! Love the radial symmetry, the lines on the ceiling (shadows from the glass in the lamps?) the shine on part but not all of the lamps, the limited number of colors, the crispness of the structure contrasted with the gentle waviness of what's on the ceiling.

  2. Meagan, I very much like this picture. It grabbed my attention when you showed it to some of us when it was still in the camera. The play of the lights on the ceiling sort of reminds me of the water.
