State Capitol- Linda Murphy

AP, f/5.6,1/60, spot meter, shade wb, ISO 100. I think the polarizer lens would have given me some sky color.

  1. Linda, I love the interplay between the curves and the angles and I also love the interplay between the highly decorated angles and the non-highly-decorated angles. And I'm not so certain that color in the sky would have added anything -- to the contrary, it might have distracted from all that wonderful Tenino sandstone....

  2. I am surprised at the depth of field w/ an f5.6. It doesn't start losing sharpness until the dome. I really like the perspective of this and the straight lines and angles leading up to the curve of the dome. Great architecture shot!

  3. I like the way the composition highlights some of the most decorative portions of the building and dome. The angle of the shot was perfect for this. I think this photograph will make me look more carefully at the Capitol Building the next time I'm there.
